In conjunction with the National Hockey League’s 2010 Winter Classic, the Boston University men’s hockey team will play Boston College in an outdoor game at Fenway Park on Jan. 8, 2010, according to WEEI.com.
The college contest will take place one week after the NHL’s annual New Year’s Day game, which will reportedly pit the Boston Bruins against the Philadelphia Flyers.
WEEI.com reported that talks are currently underway to make the BC-BU bout part of a doubleheader featuring either two other men’s Hockey East teams or two women’s Hockey East squads.
An official announcement is expected when the NHL officially announces its plans for the 2010 Classic next month.
