The following reports were taken from last week’s Allston-Brighton District 14 police log.
• A 74-year-old woman told police she was assaulted with a banana peel on Tuesday.
Police questioned the maintenance man in the victim’s building. He denied throwing the fruit and told officers the victim is having an ongoing problem with the building management. No arrests were made.
• A disruptive party ended with two arrests shortly after midnight on Sunday morning. Police responded to calls reporting loud music and guests at a party on 39 Strathmore Rd. in Brighton. Police entered the building through an open door and observed about 100 people in the second-floor apartment and in the stairwell.
Officers advised a resident of the apartment to turn the music off. Police claim the man only decreased the volume slightly. He was again told to shut the music off and dismiss his guests. Police say a final warning was ignored. Matthew Hourihan, 24, was placed under arrest for disturbing the peace.
When officers attempted to clear the apartment another man refused to leave, and demanded to know why Hourihan had been arrested. Police ordered the second man to leave the premises several times. Michael Herbert, 24, was arrested and charged for disturbing the peace.
Police had responded to complaints of the same party earlier in the evening and noticed several kegs of beer inside the apartment.
• An 11-year-old girl said she was attacked with a paintball gun on Sunday while walking down Brooks Street in Brighton. Several shots were fired, but the victim was not hit. Police are questioning the victim’s 13-year-old neighbor.
• A resident of Hunnewell Avenue claimed that he was followed to his house by a male who brandished a handgun following an earlier confrontation. The suspect left the area without harming the victim. No arrests have been made.
• Police responded to a report on Sunday that a man had been shot with what he believed was a pellet gun. The victim was walking near the intersection of Ashford and Chester streets in Allston when the shot hit him in the back of the leg. Although the victim did not see the weapon, he had seen a man in an apartment window at 30 Ashford St. where he believed the shot originated.
Police spoke with apartment residents, including one Boston University student, but all denied involvement in the incident. No pellet gun was found in the apartment.
