The following reports were taken from Allston-Brighton's District 14 crime logs from March 17 to March 25.
An unknown assailant robbed a Brighton Laundromat with a faulty silent alarm at 1846 Commonwealth Ave. with a butcher's knife Thursday morning.
The assailant, clad in a navy blue knit cap covering his entire face except for his eyes, quietly entered Missing Sock Laundromat and approached the store employee.
"How are you doing? Are you going to give me all the money?" the assailant asked while he pulled out a foot-long butcher's knife with a serrated edge and laid it on the counter in front of the employee.
To the frustration of the assailant, the employee did not immediately react, and continued to update the store log.
"Let's go! Hurry Up! Hurry Up! Not fast enough!" the assailant said.
As he yelled, the employee reached for the alarm button under the counter, even though she had been told it did not work. The assailant than climbed over the counter and followed the employee into an adjacent room where he took $300 in cash and the victim's cellular phone.
A second customer in the back of the store throughout the incident did not realize a robbery was taking place until after the assailant left.
