"BIG DOG"

Officers responded to a call for a fight in the building, and arrived to discover Leibowitz, who looked as if he had just been in a fight, according to police reports. Instead of explaining events to the officers, the defendant began to yell and swear loudly at them, according to officers at the scene. When asked to quiet down and either describe the fight or leave the hallway, Leibowitz yelled that the officers were making a big mistake because his father was a "big dog" in the New York City Police Department. His tirade disturbed several neighbors in and around the building. While being arrested, he continually threatened officers that he would "get [them] in trouble."
