Raymond Metz III, a College of Arts and Sciences alumnus and currency broker, was killed at work on Sept. 11 when terrorists collapsed the World Trade Center in New York City. He was 37 and lived in Trumbull, Conn.
Metz worked as a currency broker for Euro Brokers, Inc., and was believed to be in his office on the 84th floor of Tower 2 when the attack occurred.
Metz graduated from Boston University with a degree in economics in 1991. His wife, Patrice, said Metz loved his college years and formed many friendships at BU.
Mike Rauseo spoke highly of his former college roommate in a message posted on BU’s memorial website. He called Metz, “a doting father, devoted husband, tremendous buddy and awesome roommate. A Prince.”
Metz was raised in Ohio by his parents, Margaret and Raymond Metz Jr. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed skiing with his daughters and recreational hockey.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Natalie and Halie.
A memorial mass was held on Sept. 27 at St. Teresa’s Church in Trumbull.
