On The Affair's debut album, Yes Yes To You, the New York based new-wavers breathe new life into the indie scene. The power of lead singer Kali Holloway's lyrics and vocals will undoubtedly cast a spell of intrigue over listeners. With extremely catchy riffs, there is no way that fans will be able to avoid the temptation to get up and dance. The disc opens with the rousing "Unwanted Company" before moving on to "Honey," on which Holloway triumphantly proclaims, "You're like a dream, honey/you'd be so good for me!" Another standout ode to dating ("Andy") is a modern throwback to the sixties, complete with a clapping track. The album closes with the empowering anthem "Left At The Party." While the second half of the CD gets a bit repetitive, The Affair deliver a raw yet polished debut that is bound to have feet stomping and arms flailing all over the country. This is one affair that all can enjoy guilt-free.
